Happy Halloween!!

I'm not much into scary decorations, but count me in on adding some orange to my decor! Looks mighty tasty with turquoise, don't you think?? This delightful home belongs <a href="http://trishabrinkdesign.blogspot.com/2012/10/mustard-fresh-new-look-in-my-dining-room.html" target="_blank">Trisha Brink</a> and I love everything that she's done. Just like her <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2012/10/trisha-brink-design.html" target="_blank">bathroom</a> we saw last week, these rooms are infused with personality! She painted the turquoise Scottish sideboard herself and did a terrific job, it's such a great focal point! (She used <a href="http://www.anniesloan.com/acatalog/paints.html" target="_blank">Annie Sloan Chalk Paint</a>...Provence mixed with a smidge of Antibes and Aubusson.) The final shot of her living room just puts a smile on my face! I felt very fortunate to be one of the first people to see it and be able to share it with you! <a href="http://www.lexington.com/" target="_blank">Lexington Home Brands</a> was the sponsor of my trip, so a group of us bloggers and designers had the chance to go on a private tour of their huge award-winning showroom. The building was enormous, showcasing lots of different styles of beautiful furniture. But as you guys know, the laid-back coastal look is my favorite...which is why I loved the Bermuda-inspired Ivory Key collection so much. Not to mention it features ALL my favorite colors!! From what I'd seen before of Tommy Bahama (which admittedly wasn't that much) I was happily surprised to see such bright color palettes and fun patterns, not to mention the crisp white finish too–all of which I loved!! Nothing was too serious, just casual, comfortable and fun! Emily Gilbert + High Point Finds

Just check out all of <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/search?q=emily+gilbert" target="_blank">these</a> beautiful rooms I've already featured that she's captured...each one is absolutely heavenly!! This particular space was designed by <a href="http://alischwarz.com/" target="_blank">Ali Schwarz</a>, another one of my favorite talents. I love the four poster bed, aqua grasscloth wallcovering, not to mention the crisp white bedding and colorful pillows! (And I betcha I'd love the bathroom around the corner too!) It was agreed by everyone that color was definitely in this fall at High Point, with blue being one of the favorites. I did see a lot of turquoise too, turquoise and coral/orange being a popular combo. It's so much fun doing some trend-spotting and seeing what all is new out there!
