Glimpses of the interiors are so much more gratifying now! I am loving this vibrant Nantucket pool house designed by Wendy Valliere of <a href="http://seldomsceneinteriors.com/design.php?design=nanpool" target="_blank">Seldom Scene Interiors</a> and photographed by <a href="http://www.michaelpartenio.com/" target="_blank">Michael Partenio</a>. All the breezy turquoise (love those stripes!) and fresh green would make for a great place to escape and simply <span style="font-style: italic;">have fun!</span> I'm still going through all the photos from our own fun trip but should have some ready to share with you guys next week!<br /><br />I can't believe how many of you entered to win the adorable plush pumpkins! Together with Jessica Roan, her friend and business partner in their Atlanta home furnishings shop, <a href="http://www.interiorphilosophy.com/" target="_blank">Interior Philosophy</a>, the pair lifted colors from the surrounding coastal area when designing the space. It's beachy, but not in the conventional way we're used to seeing on here. Normally I like a lot of color, but there's so much depth here from the mix of textures combined with all the layers of natural elements. The sophisticated pops of gray and turquoise add the perfect amount of contrast. Gosh I love it. Pat Healing

The homeowner's oldest daughter wanted an aqua and black room, so Pat Healing of <a href="http://hbhomedesign.com/" target="_blank">HB Home</a> used a lot of white to keep it from being too dark. A perfect complement to <a href="http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/palladianblue" target="_blank">Benjamin Moore's <span style="font-style: italic;">Palladian Blue</span></a><span style="font-style: italic;"> </span>at 75% on the walls (one of my favorites)! So many other great details like the the cozy window seat with all the colorful pillows from Etsy, the striking black <a href="http://www.blackandwhitedelight.com/2010/07/abacus-relax-chair.html" target="_blank">spool chair</a> and the gorgeous fireplace with its amazing fretwork detail. The gorgeous millwork, mantles, and paneling were all designed by Steve Tiek and built through <a href="http://tiekbuilthomes.com/blog">Tiek Built Homes</a>. <a href="http://www.benjaminblackweldercabinetry.com/" target="_blank">Benjamin Blackwelder</a>, who did all the work on that <a href="http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2011/06/day-one-dream-home-tour.html" target="_blank">Dream Home Tour</a> you all loved so much, was responsible for the cabinetry and built-ins. What a dream team! I don't often have the opportunity to share homes like this authentic Spanish Colonial Revival designed by <a href="http://www.ediarchitecture.com/"target="_blank">EDI International, Inc</a> and built by Jennifer Hamelet of <a href="http://www.miradorbuilders.com/" target="_blank">Mirador Builders</a> out of Houston. Jennifer has been designing, building and marketing for over 20 years, and her home is something dreams are made of. Of course I was immediately drawn to the kitchen with its painted cabinets (Green Granite by Pittsburgh Paint) and pops of red. But I know you're going to want to scroll back up and take another look at the concrete tile rug in the office. Jennifer sat down with a box of 20 colors and pulled five that most closely resembled her 115 year old Heriz and Oushak rugs then designed the tiles from templates and had them made in Nicaragua. So cool! SO many other neat details in the home...custom tile everywhere, antique chandeliers and sconces, 300 year-old antique colonial doors, turquoise windows frames...I could go on and on but you can see more for yourself over at <a href="http://www.miradorbuilders.com/" target="_blank">Mirador Builders</a>!
